Canadian Federation of Independent Business
The Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) provides members with an on-line toolkit for human resources policies and procedures and a business help line that includes support for human resources issues.
Canadian Payroll Association
The Canadian Payroll Association provides free downloadable resources. A fee-based membership in the association provides employers with additional resources including updates on issues, trends, and legislation.
Chartered Professionals in Human Resources
Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) represents human resources professionals in Canada’s territories, and in all provinces except Ontario. CPHR bills itself as “the national voice on the enhancement and promotion of the HR Profession.”
Employee Benefits
The Benefits Alliance Group is a small group of benefits advisors from across Canada who “provide superior advice and counsel for their clients’ group insurance and retirement arrangements.” While I am not familiar with the group, I learned of it through a trusted benefits advisor who is a member.
Human Resources News Journals
The Canadian HR Reporter Group is an electronic format which provides a wealth of information from three industry news journals: Canadian HR Reporter, Canadian Employment Law Today, and Canadian Labour Reporter. It also offers a free subscription to a newswire service. Subscribers are sent weekly e-newsletters with updates on the latest developments and have full access to a searchable archive of past issues.

Human Resources Professionals Association
The Human Resource Professionals Association (HRPA) is a regulatory body under Ontario’s Registered Human Resources Professionals Act, 2013. The association has a job board (Hire Authority) and e-mails job openings to all members (approximately 24,000). Potential employers of human resources professionals can also check the registration status and disciplinary history of a member.
